SaM Solutions Has Brought off a Webinar on Predictive Maintenance

On August 8, 2018, SaM Solutions, together with its partner - Toradex, held a webinar on the prospects of the IoT leveraging in the production sector. Our company introduced its development - the prototype of a system that analyzes the state of an electric motor, using a Toradex board as a hardware platform.

Since no modern production process is conceivable without electric motors, a solution that assesses their behavior helps prevent failures. The system prototype allows maintenance engineers to stay updated of motor malfunctions, as it identifies the state with a probability of up to 99%. From the business perspective, the solution allows companies taking preventive measures to avoid down-time-related costs and improve asset productivity.

At the webinar, our experts gave an insight into the core advantages and capabilities of the system, as well as represented the principle of its development and operation. The solution is created using a Colibri i.MX6-ULL computer-on-module produced by Toradex and by means of Amazon Greengrass and Amazon Lambda. To provide higher flexibility and the interchangeability of cloud services, the system was trained using Microsoft Azure, while AWS Greengrass enabled the algorithm deployment.
