SaM Solutions at Java Professionals Meetup #31
Our company participated in Java Professionals Meetup #31. The event took place on April 15, 2021, both online and offline, taking into account all the Covid-19 measures.
Our colleague Michail Shturo, Architect and SAP CX Team Lead at SaM Solutions, delivered a speech titled Struggle and friendship with technical debt. In his presentation, he covered the topics of the legacy project, technical debt, and major steps to help boost a website’s revenue. Michail explained the problems he and his team faced, and how they managed to solve them.
Another topic Michail discussed was the team’s experience with the introduction of Java monolith in 2014, and the reasons why it was preserved but not developed properly. Michail also talked about how to plan the management of technical debt, CI/CD process implementation, education of team members, and SRE approach incorporation.
Representatives from Helmes AS and EPAM Systems, Inc. also addressed the meeting.
Other topics covered were the results of JHipster implementation on a microservices project, its influence on the digitalized state of Estonia, types of microservices architecture, its interaction, idempotence, and the importance of rigid contracts between microservices.
Java Professionals meetups give inspiration to software development teams, help them keep up with the latest trends, share experiences and learn best practices.
