Migration to Tridion CMS

Tridion was selected because it could support the Client’s global content model. The platform enabled the management of localized websites, the organization of product information, content reuse, and the maintenance of regional versions without fragmenting the entire web ecosystem.

SaM Solutions helped migrate the Client’s corporate website from their old CMS to Tridion, supporting both migration execution and implementation tasks. The team worked with multiple website versions for different regions and helped organize the content structure to match the Client’s international operating model.

Blueprinting and content modeling

A major part of the work involved preparing Tridion blueprints and content structures.

SaM Solutions’ developers created schemas, component templates, page templates, and template building blocks. This helped the Client manage different content types more consistently and reduce manual work when preparing regional website versions.

The team also supported information architecture and content modeling. These activities were especially important because the Client needed to manage not only text and pages, but also product images, product descriptions, prices, currency formats, support content, and marketing publications.

Template and application development

SaM Solutions used C# to create Tridion template building blocks and fragments. The team also worked on component and page templates, helping the Client build a more structured and reusable content foundation.

In addition to Tridion-specific work, the developers supported custom application development and web application integration. This ensured that the migrated website could work correctly with the Client’s existing systems and publishing processes.

Large-scale publication support

The migration covered a sizeable digital landscape.

The project involved 26 marketing publications across 12 websites and 17 support publications across four websites. SaM Solutions’ developers worked on both front-end and back-end tasks, with content distributed across more than 20 servers located in different countries.

This required careful coordination. The team had to keep publication structures clear, support regional variations, and make sure that the new CMS setup could handle the Client’s operational scale.

Tridion integration and knowledge transfer

Beyond direct development, SaM Solutions supported the Client’s broader Tridion capabilities.

The team’s expertise covered Tridion templates, GUI extensions, Broker, Event System, and integration automation using the Event System. SaM Solutions also supported developer training, helping the Client’s teams better understand Tridion programming and continue working with the platform after migration.

The Client migrated the required website data to Tridion CMS within the planned schedule.
