The service is intended for automating promotional campaigns based on providing users with promo-licenses in exchange for their registration information and/or special promo codes. One promo code can be issued to a group of users. Each promo code can be exchanged (activated) by a user for an individual activation code for a personal product. The exchange is carried out on a special web page (registration page) that is integrated with the Promo Code Activation Service.
Some of the key requirements for the system were: general security (protection against automatic brute-force attacks) and a single service design implying the use of the same promo campaign mechanism and policies in different regions.
