Lexware collaborates with SaM Solutions in the development of LexLive SaaS Software

For almost five years Lexware (www.lexware.de) and SaM Solutions cooperate in the development of Lexware’s business software solutions. Four teams of SaM Solutions support the software house in Freiburg as nearshore development partner. The cooperation includes the development and architecture of products such as Financial Office and Taxman. The SaM Solutions’ experts were also employed in the development of LexLive, the recently presented new SaaS (Software as a Service) software of Lexware.

The Development of LexLive

At the end of 2007 Lexware and SaM Solutions started a pilot project together, in order to deliver a proof-of-concept for the new online software-as-a-service. The project team was organized under SCRUM-methodology and must have exceptional skills in Web 2.0 AJAX-technologies. The web application itself was developed on ASP.NET technology. The implementation of the highly interactive user interface was one of the biggest technical challenges, since the web application had to be functionally and visually as capable as a desktop application. This is one of the requirements fulfilled by the SaM Solutions’ development team effectively. Lexware architect and product manager coordinated the project, while the entire development and implementation work was done in the SaM Solutions’ development center in Minsk.

“We have chosen SaM Solution, because they demonstrated the best technical skills amongst all potential development partners. This is by all means the most important factor in case of such a complex development project as Lexlive. The decision proved to be right. The cooperation has worked perfectly and the results are just as we have expected”, says Uwe Rymkuss, director for development of Consumer products at Lexware.
